The Mac Family Trip to China

The Mac Family Trip to China

Thank you so very much for your prayers and financial support of our up-coming China trip. We apologize for the delay in updating you on our trip plans. Due to the high cost of airfare we were forced to leave in July, rather than June. (We paid $ 8,600 for a family of 4, which is expensive, but cheaper than traveling in June). We have now received our passports and visas and have booked tickets; leaving July 28th and returning home August 20th. It will take 3 full days of travel to arrive in Urumuqi. There, we will be leading a VBS for approximately 40 “international” kids. After 4 days in Urumuqi, we will take about a 6 hour bus ride to Korla. We are planning to spend about 5 days in Korla, where we will be teaching English to the local Chinese children. Following our time in Korla we will then take some family vacation in Beijing and Shanghai, where we will meet up with a Chinese friend who is working in Beijing. We are fast approaching July, and are very excited. We would appreciate it if you would remember to pray for some of the needs below:
· Adequate time to prepare for trip, while hosting our Basque student.
· T.K. will find consistent time to teach Chinese to our family/ friend, ( 1 to 2 x per week)
· Continue to raise support for our trip
· Beth’s garage sale(for support) is a success on July 8-9th
· Find reasonable prices for food/hotel in China.
· Listen to God’s “voice” in our quiet times.
· Prepare our hearts/minds for the purpose of our trip and the sake of the Chinese people

Beth,

Please contact me sometime this week. We have a few sweatshirts/t-shirts from Lakeside Bible Camp that I can donate to your garage sale. They are brand new, and we received them from the camp because they are phasing out their older items.

Brian,WOW! my husband sent me this aticrle and I just started laughing when I got to the part of My wife loves me, but Im driving her crazy! we are in the last week of his current youth ministry position at a church and transitioning to a college ministry setting about 2 hours away. It has been long, hard, and stressful. I hate moving with a passion, and we went from a nice big parsonage to a tiny little apartment. I am grateful to God for his provisions. But I consistently sing a Relient K's song lyric you know I'll always love you, but right now I just dont like you I keep wondering what my roll as the yp wife in this is. So far I have just filled the position of praying nad packing and praying a lot more. So thanks for a great aticrle to remind me that its hard, but its worth it
