The Treasure Trove

Children's Weekend Programs

What’s Up With Children At PBF?

Whether it’s upstairs or downstairs, we are ministering to over 400 children in our Treasure Trove Ministry. We value children, and desire to show God’s love to each one. Over 200 people serve in our Nursery through 6th Grade program. Detailed below is an overview of our various classes.

  • Babies (Birth - 24 months) is available in Room 102 at every service. The ratio of caregiver to child is 1:3.
  • Toddlers (24-36 months) is available in Room 112 at every service. A simple Bible story with a craft and finger play is provided.
  • Preschoolers meet in Room 111. Children must be 3-years-old by 8/31/07. Beginnings, a sequential curriculum teaching the Creation stories through the life of Paul and highlighting special seasonal stories such as Christmas and Easter, is used at all services.
  • For our Elementary-Aged Children, Bible Study classes are offered at every service. Great Bible Adventures, Gospel Light and David C. Cook Curriculum are used.  Sequentially taught Old and New Testament Bible stories which concentrate on Biblical truths are the major focus.  Please check the class assignments link to see what classes are available at each service.  Schedules are also posted throughout the church.

Classes are formatted differently during the summer months. Please check posted schedules for class assignments.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SUMMER CHILDREN’S MINISTRY!!

June 21 & 22  -- A special presentation on the Basque Ministry for K-6th in Room 211 at all services.  This summer, PBF is hosting 10 students from the Basque region of Spain.  Find out how we as Christians here at PBF can reach out to Basque teenagers and share the Gospel of Christ!

June 28 & 29  -- A special presentation on Habakkuk will be given for all PRESCHOOL – 6th graders in Room 211 at all services.  Jan Symonds will be telling a wonderful story using her phenomenal watercolor drawings to delight all of us while we learn.

July 5/6 – August 30/31  --  Children’s Ministry Summer Program!

Classes will be offered for Birth through 2nd grade throughout the summer.  3rd – 5th graders worship in the sanctuary with their parents.  See the schedule on the back of this letter for classroom information.  If you are willing to give one hour of your time to teach or help in a classroom this summer we would greatly appreciate your service.  Please call Karen Young at 692-3975 to sign up!

During the summer months when classes are not provided for 3rd-5th graders, this is a great opportunity to teach your children about respectful behavior in the main sanctuary and especially to enjoy worshipping together as a family.  Children’s Bulletins are provided at all services to help with the inevitable “wiggles”, but, take heart!  You will see progress as the summer progresses (I speak from PERSONAL experience!).

July 10-13  -- Junior Camp for all 3rd – 6th graders (based on the grade they were in for the 2007/2008 school year).  There are no spots available, but there is a waiting list.  Call Tonya Kipple @ 692-6549 ext 15 if you have any questions.  Any child that is registered should have received a confirmation letter in the mail.  Campers should pick up their t-shirts in the CM office (Room 104) ASAP!!!

August 30 & 31  -- The last weekend of the Summer Program.  During this Labor Day Weekend, only nursery and preschool classes will be offered.  The Children’s Ministry Team will be getting classrooms ready for the new school year!

September 6 & 7  -- The first weekend of the 2008/2009 School Year Sunday School Classes!  Look for some exciting changes!  It will be a fun and exciting year for all of the children!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.  Also, if you are interested in helping or teaching in any part of our Children’s Ministry program during the summer or for the 2008/2009 school year, I would love to hear from you!!  I hope that all of you have a wonderful summer spending time with your families and creating fantastic memories!  God bless you as you play in the sun!!

In His Name and For His Glory,
