The Treasure Trove
Goals
The purpose of The Treasure Trove, Children's Ministry at Peninsula Bible Fellowship, is to introduce children to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and equip them to apply the Gospel to their lives and in their relationships with others.
In Matthew 6: 21, Jesus says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also". The name for Children's Ministry at PBF, The Treasure Trove, reflects our view that children are priceless treasures and we need to view their care and nurturing with high regard. A treasure chest is filled with priceless gems and should be well guarded and cared for. Likewise, so are the children that God so richly blesses us with!
We strive to impact children "TREASURES" by:
- proclaiming the message of Christ's love for them.
- encouraging children to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become a part of His family.
- facilitating the child's growth in his/her relationship with Jesus Christ and His Word.
- fostering skill building through relevant biblical teaching and positive role modeling.
Our goal is to help children discover Jesus in a personal way so they will grow up in His teachings. It is the desire that the Bible-based training they receive here will be taken with them throughout their lives. Curriculum is chosen and designed to help the child discover what God's word says and how to apply that truth to his/her life. We equip the child to put truth into action.
- For each child to know that God is real and that a personal relationship with Him gives meaning to life.
- To aid each child in accepting Jesus Christ and developing a dynamic relationship with Him.
- To help each child develop a lifestyle that is built on his/her relationship with Jesus Christ.
- To help each child understand that God's Word, The Bible, is relevant and growth in Bible knowledge can result in positive changes in attitudes, actions and lifestyle.
- To help the child grow in her/her relationships with other believers and to be a positive witness to his/her non-Christian friends.
- To provide a safe, secure and loving environment in which children are encouraged to participate and where parents feel comfortable with the care that their children receive.
- To help children feel a warm sense of belonging to their church family and to ensure each child feels welcomed and wanted.
- To provide children with the opportunity and direction to participate in various ministries.
- To support families in their responsibility for the spiritual nurture and growth of their child(ren).
- To provide Godly men and women who are adequately trained to serve as positive role models in their ministry to children.
