Many of you have Questions about things around PBF. We have compiled a list of some common ones we come across.
1. I really like this new song I heard on the radio, how do I tell PBF about it? or, I heard a song at church that I love; who is the artist that sang it? Where can I buy it?
Answer: We love to hear about new ways to sing God's truth! Contact the Worship Director, Jason Caldwell. He can provide you with the list of songs. We would recommend iTunes or amazon.com as a place to buy them.
2. How do I get something put in the PBF news?
Answer: Our weekly PBF News bulletin contains info about happenings around the church. If you have something church related that the rest of PBF should know, contact the Church Office @ 360-692-6549
3. Why don’t you pass an offering plate?
Answer: We collect the offering in each foyer through the Blessing Slot. The last thing we want you to feel is this church is about your money. We want you to freely give to God and not give out of guilt. We also recognize that all things are God's and we are stewards, giving back to Him the first fruits of His blessings.
4. How do I get something posted on the website or the Bulletin Board in the foyer?
Answer: You can call the office at 360-692-6549 and speak with Heidi.
5. I want to volunteer, with whom should I speak with?
Answer: Well, that depends on which area you would like to volunteer! You might like to view our staff page and see who is in charge in that area. Our church is run by many volunteers... we depend on them. Email us and we are sure to get back to you, because that's what we get paid to do!
6. How do I become part of a care group?
Answer: Care groups are the life blood of our church. You will often hear the saying, "Our church doesn't just meet on Sundays!" We have small groups that meet throughout the week in homes and apartments. We would love to connect you with a group that fits you. Contact Terri in the office and we can work on finding you a group.
7. Is PBF associated with any denomination?
Answer: We are a non-denominational church. While we do not participate in any particular denomination, we hold the Bible as the complete, revealed Word of God. For more information, please see our Statement of faith
8. How do I ask for help with my bills?
Answer: We believe in providing for each others needs. At times we are able to provide benevolence help to people in our church body. Contact the church office for more detailed information.
9. Do you have any adult education classes?
Answer: We currently do not have adult education classes that meet on Sundays. Women's Bible study groups meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other adult oriented classes include a Wellness Class and Divorce Recovery. In the past we have offered a class called "Solid Grounds" at the Sunday 9am service that explores different Biblical topics. Classes are conversational and relational in nature. Check our site for more info on when the next class study will be.
10. I need to meet with someone concerning my marriage, who should I talk to?
Answer: Pastor Brent does most of our marriage counseling. To set up an appointment or to hear of other well-qualified counselors in the area, contact the office.
13.How do I become a Christian?
Answer: First of all, you don't become a Christian by joining a church, adopting a creed, or believing in God. Becoming a Christian is all about Jesus. To follow Jesus you need to recognize that you are a sinner, and that you can never earn your way to Heaven or God's good graces. But that accepting that Jesus' death on the cross pays the debt that you owe to God because you are not able to live a perfect life. No one is. Following Jesus also means repenting of your sins, or to say it another way, confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. Jesus is God in Flesh(John 1:1, 14; Col. 2:9), and He lived a perfect life, died on the cross, was dead and buried and then rose again to life. Christians follow Jesus with all they have. Will life suddenly be easy and perfect? No, it sometimes get harder as God teaches us what it means to follow Him. We would love nothing more than to talk to you about your desire to follow Jesus. Please contact someone on staff so we can help you further.Giving your life to Jesus Christ is the most important thing you can do.
14. Do you have a Bible I can have? Or buy? Or recommend?
Answer: . PBF uses the New International Version(NIV) for our services. We have bibles here for you if you do not have one and we would love to give one to you! There are many great translations out there, including the English Standard Version(ESV), and the New American Standard Bible(NASB).
15. Do I have to dress up for church? What do I wear?
Answer: People come "As they are." Some people wear shorts, some people wear suits. Some people have holes in their jeans, some don't. We say as long as it is not distracting, then it's OK. We believe your are not made Holy by what you wear, but by who you trust. And we hope that is Jesus.
