The History of PBF

Peninsula Bible Fellowship began in 1976 with its first members meeting in Fairview Junior High and led in worship by Pastor Bill Robinson. In those early years, the Robinsons’ home served as nursery and church office. The group shifted to Esquire Hills Elementary School in 1979.

In 1984, the church body felt it needed to establish a more permanent home and bought about 5 acres on Waaga Way. Construction began on the main building in 1987 and the proud congregation began worshiping there in 1988. In April 1989, the congregation added a second Sunday service and then, in 1992, added Saturday night worship. In 1999, Bill Robinson resigned as senior pastor and Joe Schneider, who had served as an assistant pastor since 1976, became the lead pastor. Schneider recently retired and the current pastor, Brent James, was called to lead the church in 2011.

The church has now transitioned to three services on Sunday mornings and a Sunday evening service. Our average Sunday morning attendance, from across all three services, is 700 people.

During its history, Peninsula Bible Fellowship became an incubator for numerous ministry and mission programs, including: Children of the Nations, Jail Ministry, and Summer in the USA. It also provided a home to nationally-lead ministries including: MOPS, Royal Family Kids Camp, Teen Reach Adventure Camp, Beyond Divorce, the US Center for World Missions and more. Members also support numerous efforts to reach and serve locally based ministries including Coffee Oasis, Pregnancy Resource Services, and Benedict House.
